Self-Love Is Strong

A strong woman loves herself.

All too often women use anger or disgust to try to fuel their fitness goals.

But being able to love yourself, inside and out, and using that love as motivation to better yourself and to take care of your body is the key to living a healthy lifestyle!

Unfortunately, with how busy our lives sometimes get, it can be way too easy to neglect ourselves, our happiness, and our well being.

That’s why I’ve come up with this list of 5 fun things you can start doing today to love yourself more and treat yourself better!

1. Stop Comparing

In a world where social media is such a BIG part of our culture, it can be WAY too easy to get caught up in playing the comparison game, spending your time wishing you were more like someone else, had what they have, or looked like them. This is one of the quickest ways to decrease self-love!

It may be easier said than done, but listen up: You are unique. You have unique goals. You have a unique background of incredible experiences that have gotten you to where you are now.

You are an AMAZING individual. It’s not fair to make these comparisons. Become self-aware, and if you realize you’re making these types of comparisons, refer to the clip above and STOP IT!

Look at all the good in your life. Set goals that are relevant to your own life, and GO GET THEM!

2. Focus on Yourself

Life can get sooooo busy, but you don’t need me to tell you that! 🙂 It can sometimes seem like there are never enough hours in the day to get everything done.

Oftentimes you might find yourself in the backseat of your own life, putting your health, wants, and needs last, without even realizing it.

Take time to focus on yourself, whether that means engaging in hobbies frequently, taking time to relax (go ahead, kick those feet up while you read this blog!), scheduling a date with yourself and going out and treating yourself -whatever it is! Make sure that you aren’t neglecting yourself!

This isn’t about being selfish. This is about making sure you are taking care of yourself so that you can be the best version of yourself!

3. Get In A Fun Workout

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of completely owning a workout and walking out the gym doors knowing that you gave it your all.

Making time to get in your workouts is a great way to invest in yourself, your happiness, and your future.

Been wanting to try out a fun new workout, fitness class, or just wanting to go train with some friends? Go have yourself a fun workout with your besties!

4. Change Things Up!

When’s the last time you tried some new food, a new hobby, or went on a mini (or big) adventure?

Trying to manage all of the day-to-day tasks (homework, work, all the errands you have to run, etc.) can make life so hectic and make it easy to fall into a repetitive pattern of doing the same thing day after day after day. That may not be bad, depending on what you’re doing, but what about changing things up from time to time?

Go try a new restaurant. Go do a fun new workout. Start a new book. Go do that hobby you’ve been wanting to do. Don’t be afraid to mix things up from time to time and treat yourself to some excitement!

5. Surround Yourself with Positivity

Focusing on the negative can create unhealthy thought patterns and keep you feeling down. It can make it harder to push yourself to new limits, achieve goals, and accomplish your dreams.

On the flipside, surrounding yourself with positivity can go such a long way when it comes to increasing your self-love.

Make sure you’re giving yourself a boost of positivity as frequently as possible. Need some ways to eliminate negativity and increase the positive vibes in your life?

Here are just a couple of ways:

  1. Go hang out in nature
  2. Spend more time with loved ones
  3. Spread the love (Look for ways to serve those around you or for “random acts of kindness” opportunities)
  4. Get in the habit of reflecting on things you’re grateful for

You’re Awesome

Here’s the takeaway: you’re incredible.

Don’t sweat the small stuff.  Focus on using self-love as motivation to take care of yourself.

Today, and every day, invest in yourself and continue to crush your goals.

You deserve it!
