5 Festive Gingerbread Recipes to Make This Season

The holiday season is a magical time of year, and a big reason why is the festive food that comes around each winter.

One of my favorite seasonal treats is gingerbread!

To help you celebrate the holiday season this year, I’ve compiled a list of 5 of my favorite healthy gingerbread recipes.

Gingerbread Cookies

Healthy high protein gingerbread cookie


  • 1/2 c almond butter
  • 1 scoop French Vanilla IdealLean Protein
  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp. molasses
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • Dash ground nutmeg


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine all the ingredients and drop in heaping tablespoons onto a cookie sheet lined with baking parchment or Silpat.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes.
  4. Let the cookies completely cool before removing them onto a plate or tin.

Gingerbread Cookie Latte

  1. Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. Optional: Top with sugar-free whipped cream and enjoy!

Gingerbread French Toast

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. cloves
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. molasses
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 scoop IdealLean French Vanilla Protein
  • 2 slices whole grain bread


  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk egg, all spices, molasses, vanilla extract, almond milk, and IdealLean French Vanilla Protein Powder until smooth.
  2. Dip the slices of bread in egg mixture, turning to coat both sides of the bread evenly, and place onto a hot skillet or griddle on medium heat until browned on both sides. Enjoy!

Gingerbread Pancakes

Gingerbread pancakes


  • 1/2 c white whole wheat flour
  • 1 scoop French Vanilla IdealLean Protein
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/8 tsp. cloves
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 2 tsp. molasses
  • 2 tbsp. unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c unsweetened almond milk


  1. Combine the flour, protein powder, baking powder, salt, and spices in a medium-sized bowl and whisk together.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and whisk just until combined.
  3. Preheat a lightly greased skillet on medium-high heat. Once hot, pour portions of the batter onto the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the edges start to brown. Flip and cook for another minute or two. Repeat until you have 6 pancakes.
  4. Top pancakes with desired toppings and enjoy!

Gingerbread Cookie Smoothie

  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 scoop French Vanilla IdealLean Protein
  • 2 tbsp. old fashioned oats
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • Pinch of cloves
  • 2 tsp. molasses
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 c unsweetened almond milk


  1. Add ice, blend, and enjoy!
