What is L-Carnitine?

One of the main functions of L-Carnitine is that it acts as a transporter for fatty acids. You can think of it as the garbage man that comes and picks up your trash outside your door and takes it aways to the dump.

L-Carnitine picks up the fatty acids found in your body and dumps them into your cell’s mitochondria. It is there that those fatty acids are burned to give your body energy leaving you with less fat and more energy.

(Wouldn’t that be nice if we actually had someone come to our doors to take our fat away?)

You can find L-Carnitine in foods like red meat, pork, milk, cheese, and wait for it… ICE CREAM! 🙂

FYI just because it is found in ice cream you shouldn’t run to the store and buy all your favorite flavors and eat straight from the tub to get your L-Carnitine (as nice as that sounds).
