Okay so you’ve heard the hype about it I’m sure, but just to refresh, pre-workout is a supplement that you can take before your workout to boost your energy, enhance your focus, and help athletic performance.

But how do you know you’re getting the right one?

There’s a ton of pre-workout out there. And again, not all pre-workout is the same. Many products are catered to men and few have the benefits that really work to actually help women lose weight.

That bro-at-the-gym’s pre-workout isn’t catered to fit your personal needs. Men’s pre-workouts may have a ton of different stimulants, calories, and other ingredients you just don’t need.

So what are some things you should be looking for when selecting the best pre-workout for weight loss? Don’t worry I am here to help in any way that I can!

When it comes to weight loss, exercise and nutrition are key. A good pre-workout can help you fast track your results by helping you stay focused at the gym.

This is important considering you want to get the best workout possible. This also means that you will have more intention during your workout so you’ll be less likely to slack off or get tired, which can give you better results.

Having the focus and energy to get your workout done is so important. Just think about it. If you’re barely awake enough to go to the gym, you’ll get there and you’re most likely not going to get the best workout in.

You might be wondering if it’s also important for getting your weight down.

The answer is yes.
Here’s what things to look for in a pre-workout if your goals are weight loss focused:

Keep it low calorie.

There are a lot of pre-workouts that are low calorie, but there are also some that are pretty high in calories per serving.

Obviously, you don’t want to be taking in extra and unnecessary calories when you’re trying to go to the gym to burn it off. That makes all your hard work go to waste!

Don’t worry not all pre-workouts have that, just be careful to look at the nutritional facts when you’re checking that out. You need one that’s going to be low in calories and benefit you with the vitamins and nutrients that you need for a better ability to workout.

Watch out for added sugar.

Sugar can really inhibit your workouts. This is because simple carbs can cause dips in your bodies ability to regulate glucose. When blood sugar is high it can make you crash later.

Research shows that those consuming higher simple carbohydrates(sugar) experienced fatigue more often than those who didn’t. Fatigue is obviously not desirable when working out!

There is also a connection with spikes in sugar and the amount of belly fat you have. Spikes can be seen to cause more belly fat! Yikes!

Make sure you like the taste.

Okay, let’s think about this for a bit and be realistic, you’re not going to be able to keep up with anything that you don’t love, so you need to make sure that you like your pre-workout flavor.

Of course, it needs to be healthy too, but if you sacrifice taste completely then it’s not going to be something you’ll want to do long term.
