4th of July Recipes

Who’s excited to celebrate the 4th of July? We want to help you enjoy the holiday with some delicious, healthy, and festive recipes! Perfect for summer BBQ’s with your family and friends. These fun treats will provide you with a healthy, high-protein option that you can bring to any function. Plus let’s face it, food is just tastier when it looks good!

1. Patriotic Pina Colada

INGREDIENTS

Red Layer:
1/2 cup frozen Raspberries
4 oz light coconut milk
1/2 cup Ice
1/4 cup pineapple
1/2 scoop Peach Mango Clear Whey
Blue Layer:
1/4 cup pineapple
1 tsp blue spirulina
4 oz light coconut milk
1/2 cup Ice
1/4 banana
1/2 scoop Peach Mango Clear Whey

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix all the ingredients for the red layer and pour into glass.
  2. Blend all ingredients for the blue layer together and pour it on top of the red layer. *Optional* Top with sugar-free whip cream and Enjoy!

2.Red, White, and Blue Popsicles

INGREDIENTS

1 heaping cup raspberries and/or strawberries
1 cup blueberries
1 cup vanilla coconut yogurt
1 scoop IdealRaw
1/2-1 cup coconut cream
Optional: 1/2 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Using a small food processor or blender, puree the raspberries until smooth. Set aside. Similarly, puree the blueberries until smooth, set aside.
  2. Combine the coconut yogurt, IdealRaw protein, and vanilla in one measuring cup and each of the berry purees in different small measuring cups with spouts. Use some of the coconut cream for the yogurt with IdealRaw protein to thin the mixture just enough so they will pour easily into the molds. Use either water or coconut cream for the raspberries and blueberry purees depending on if you prefer a more vibrant color or if prefer creamier colors. Put the cups in the refrigerator when you are not using them.
  3. To layer your pops, start by pouring a little of the blueberry in the bottom of each mold. Put the mold in the freezer and freeze till firm, at least 30 minutes to an hour.
  4. Layer a little bit of the yogurt mixture into each mold for the next stripe. You will be able to see through the side of the mold to check your progress. At this point, cover the top of the mold with foil or plastic wrap, and insert the popsicle sticks in the top. Make sure to get the stick a little bit into the frozen layer so they will stand up straight. Put back into the freezer until solid.
  5. Once solid, remove the foil or wrap since the stick should be frozen in the popsicle now. Layer with the raspberry stripe, and freeze until solid – so on until the molds are filled. Make sure to freeze each stripe until solid before adding the next, 30-60 minutes. Don’t worry if the stripes are uneven, but try to clean up any drips or spills as you go.
  6. Once filled and completely frozen solid, un-mold the popsicles. Fill the sink or a deep bowl with hot water. Immerse the mold just up to the lip, being careful not to let any water splash onto the top. Hold it for a few seconds, remove, and try to pull the pops out. If they don’t slide out, immerse again for just a few seconds. Enjoy!
